Do I need an initial consultation?

Yes, before you start training it is encouraged that you have a meeting with one of our fitness professionals. This will allow for a more in depth discussion about your current health status and any goals you wish to achieve. During the consultation,we will undergo a health check which will measure various health parameters such as weight, BMI, body fat %, muscle %, blood pressure, visceral fat and basal metabolic rate, as well as performing a short training session.

How long does a training session last?

Most of the training sessions we do at Trojan Fitness last 1 hour. However less experienced gym goers have got the option of doing 30 minute sessions. For more hard core fitness fanatics we offer 90 minute sessions.

Do I need to be really fit to do personal training sessions?

Absolutely not. Our personal training sessions are tailored to your ability, whether you’re a hard core fitness fanatic or a complete novice to structured exercise. Our job is to help you get fitter and healthier whatever your ability.

Is nutritional advice included if I book training sessions?

In short, yes. Advice and guidance regarding recommended calorie intake and what foods you should be eating will be given. However, if you require personalised weekly meal plans with recipes this will be an extra cost.

If I’m ill or cannot make a session can I cancel or re-schedule

We understand that modern life can be pretty hectic so if you need to change an appointment that’s not a problem. All we ask is you try to give us as much notice as possible. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice my still be charged.

Is home training an option?

We do offer the option of training from you place of residence but this would be of extra cost due to travel expenses. If you would like to train in your home please give us a call to discuss details.

How do I book a session?

There are various ways you can book training sessions. You can simply contact us or once signed up, use our online booking service.

How much does it cost?

The cost of personal training sessions depends on how many you wish to do. Our pricing structure works on the basis that the more training sessions you book the cheaper they become. For a single 1 hour training session the cost is £40. However if you decide to do 20 sessions this reduces to just £34 per session.

Can I train with a friend?

Definitely, training with a friend is a great way to reduce the cost and aid motivation. It works particularly well if you both have the same goals. The only time training with a friend doesn’t work well is when you both have completely different goals. For example, one person wants to increase muscle size and the other person wants to just lose as much weight as possible. These two goals require very different training strategies that cannot be implemented in the training session.

How do I pay for sessions?

There are many ways you can pay, either by cash, bank transfer or using our online booking system, the choice is yours.

I have multiple health issues can I still train?

At Trojan Fitness our trainers are fully qualified to train people with multiple health issues. Before any training in the gym commences you are required to have a consultation with one of our fitness professionals to discuss any ailments or injuries. In certain circumstances we may ask for more information about the condition from your GP or medical consultant.

Where are the training session held?

As of 2022, we now have our very own boutique Northwood gym in which we hold personal training sessions.
