Northwood and Ruislip are very pedestrian friendly areas, so finding yourself a route isn’t too difficult. If you want to get away from running on hard concrete, there are many wilder options out there.
Ruislip Lido is a 60 acre lake surrounded by scenic forest. If you want to make a day of it, this is a prime location. The Lido has been an attraction since the 60’s and 70’s, and still draws big crowds especially in the summer. Occasionally, wild swimming is permitted, if you can face the icy waters.
Northwood Recreation Ground is another, slightly less scenic, running spot that is frequently used. Northwood Recreation Ground does offer other facilities than just a path to run around, there is a Ball court, Cricket pitch, outdoor gym, and tennis courts.
